ISLAMABAD: “Is The Dawn really aligned with our National Interests?” was the first thing hit in my mind when I read this message on few Whatsapp groups.
Jordan Times is the only English newspaper in Jordan. On 13 February 2017, they published news on Kashmir about killing Kashmiris as a rebel, militant and terrorists while calling killed Hindu soldiers as the martyrs. Embassy of Pakistan registered a complaint to Chief Editor of Jordan Times as under:-
This is what Indian ‘Hindu’ writers are writing about Kashmiri Muslims.
And I am shocked to see Jordan times on 13 Feb newspaper mentioning Kashmiris who are fighting for their freedom and being killed by Indian forces as terrorists. The newspaper called Muslims who are fighting for their right of self-determination in line with UN Security Council resolution killed by Indian forces on 12 Feb as a rebel in the fourth line, fifth line as militant and seventh line as terrorists. The irony does not finish here. In the same news on the tenth line, the Hindu soldiers of Indian army killed are called Shaheed.
How this error of grave nature can go unnoticed from people like you. I leave rest to your judgment. Please look into it.
In response Jordan times sent the embassy of Pakistan three links of The Dawn, Newspaper Pakistan is using exactly the same terms, i.e. rebel, militant and terrorist for Kashmiri people and martyr for Indian Hindu soldiers as under:-
- Dawn Article – Two Indian troops among eight killed in held Kashmir gunbattle, February 13th, 2017 – called Kashmiri Freedom Fighters militants

This Message made me curious and I started reading quoted URL references given in the message. As I was reading The Dawn Articles, continuously few questions were hammering on my mind.
Is The Dawn Really Aligned with Our National Interests?
Is It the same newspaper, which was founded by Quaid-e-Azam?
There are so many newspapers in Pakistan, Why every time The Dawn?
We are THE NATION who can run “Fruit Boycott Campaign” against street hawkers, but cant run a “The Dawn Boycott Campaign” in our houses and in govt organization offices for such type of acts?
After Dawn leaks Saga, I was hoping some lesson would be learned. But after going through my last searched article (At no.4 written on May 28, 2017), I was clear, there is nothing like learning or mistakes. Maybe some agenda?
The habit of giving certificates of patriotism is not decent and worthy but still……. What should we call above stated facts?
Leaving the decision on YOU……
